My eye(s) have been bothering me off and on for ages now. First I thought it was my contacts. Then I thought allergies. Then the combo of both. Well, turns out I have a bacterial infection of some sort – something that has been aggravated by wearing contacts (contacts not allowing enough oxygen in so the infection gets worse rather than better) and luckily I had the right mind to call my eye doctor (and thank god i have an eye dr these days, being that i hate drs in general) and ask her if she could please fit me in today. And luckily, I dont work at the evil hellmouth company so I could leave early (in fact, encouraged to do so) so that i could make the appointment.
When I arrived, the Dr was like, “oh my god you should have called sooner. I thought you were just talking about a minor irritation caused by contacts, but this is pretty serious. Luckily you came in today. Don’t worry, its nothing that will effect your vision, but this needs to be treated pretty aggressively.”
As a result, I have to use these special medicated eye drops every 30 minutes (awesome putting eye drops in when you are in the store and people are staring at you like you just opened a box of eye drops for your own sake) AND I have to put this crazy expensive cream *IN* my eyes before I go to sleep. The cream apparently blurs your vision but i guess it doesnt matter if I’m asleep. God. And thankfully all the insurance and crap w/my company is cleared bc that little tube of cream is like $80. wtf.
So, I see her on Saturday again. She wants it to be at least 50% better. Right now, I look like a troll with beet-red eyes. HOT! Hopefully this will be resolved come 4th of July weekend. I totally do not want to hike in a hot fucking canyon w/glasses.
God, after typing this, I realized how vain I must be. Should probably be worrying more about my vision.
Anyway, that’s the boring update.
