Providence Public Library Wedding

^^These photos were taken by a little guy with his point and shoot camera. They are my faves from the night.^^

We spent a good part of the afternoon walking around Providence so, as usual, when it came time to get ready to attend Sly’s friend’s wedding we were cutting it pretty close. Sly ironed while I did my best to frantically tame my hair and quickly apply lipstick. Luckily our hotel was just around the corner so all we had to do was walk a block or two (in the world’s most uncomfortable heels) to the wedding venue: The Providence Public Library.

This wedding really had it all — beautiful historic architecture (extra bonus points for being held in a library!), great food (we ate one too many of the mini fish n chips), intimate gathering of people, sunset dinner, heartfelt and funny speeches, flower arrangements popping out of books, and a nightcap of mini root beer floats. We had a great time meeting people, eating everything, and of course dancing the night away.

Yes! It’s the easiest “style” I can do. Blow dry hair opposite your normal part so hair is a bit fluffy. Then smooth doen bangs, clip loosely so that its drapey on the side. Then create a small bun on the smaller parted side by twisting hair into bun and secure. Do the same with the opposite side, except wrap the twist around the previously formed twisted bun and secure ( I used hair bands over bobby pins bc I was trying to be quick). I added a little clip for decoration and to hold up the side bangs. That’s it! Took me 15 min to blow dry and 10-15 min for the updo.

I’m trying to match the words with the pictures and must be so clueless because I can’t figure out how it ended up looking like that. I bet if you made a random blog entry with pictures on how to do it, it’d end up all over Pinterest eventually…
